Glory Days Grill is a great addition to Eldersburg’s casual dining scene. It brings Eldersburg very comforting, delicious, typically American food along with a family friendly everyday dining atmosphere. Located right by Wal-Mart, Glory Days Grill offers a large selection appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and entrees, sure to please everyone from children to elderly. Most sandwiches are priced under $10 and most entrees are under $20.

The children’s menu, printed on a separate coloring handout, includes the classics, like chicken tenders and spaghetti. The prices for children’s dishes are quite low ($3.99, $4.99) and include a drink. My daughter described her spaghetti as “very yummy” and ate the entire plate (quite generous in size). My son had fried shrimp, and he too, loved his food. I described the restaurant as family friendly, because the noise and the slight mess that my children made didn’t seem to disturb anyone and was treated by the wait staff as “no big deal”. Also, the waiter made it a point to serve my hungry children first, as if he understood how important it was for their parents’ dining experience. It made all the difference for us.

Our appetizer egg rolls were very tasty, even if slightly overcooked, and the entrees came out quickly and tasted delicious. The blue cheese burger was cooked to perfection: meaty, juicy, and flavorful, with the sweet and tangy taste of grilled onions and blue cheese crumbled on top. Seafood pizza was a slightly unusual twist on a classic dish. It tasted great, a little sweet and delicate, but a little hearty. It was a great combination of flavors. Even our 2-year old loved it!

I described the restaurant as family friendly, because at least one of the 20+ TVs hanging in the space, play something children friendly. Other TVs show predominantly sports events, which makes this restaurant a perfect gathering place for sports fans. Add a nice large bar to the mix, and you come out with a great hangout for anyone who likes a crowded and slightly noisy dining experience. It’s a fast-paced dining place for anyone and everyone. With the Glory Days Grill’s low prices, excellent food, and superb service, we are lucky to have it right here is Eldersburg.

The National Weather Service has forecasted extreme heat for Maryland jurisdictions in the Capital, Central, Southern and Eastern Regions of Maryland. This heat advisory is in effect from Thursday, July 21st until Saturday, July 23rd. Heat Index values are expected to meet or exceed 105 degrees on all three days, with Friday’s heat index possibly spiking to 110 degrees.

In response, the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) and the Carroll County Emergency Management Division (EMD) has activated its State and County Heat Emergency plan and is alerting the affected jurisdictions of a potential extreme heat event.

An Extreme Heat Event is a weather condition with excessive heat and/or humidity that has the potential to cause heat-related illnesses. An Extreme Heat Event is defined as a day or series of days when the Heat Index reaches 105 degrees Fahrenheit. We consider activating our plan any time the forecast shows a high chance of reaching our trigger point of 105 degrees. Additional information, including the State Heat Plan, Heat Reports, FAQs, and updated contact information is posted on the DHMH site: http://www.dhmh.maryland.gov/diseases/heatrelated.html. We hope you find the materials helpful. CDC also provides an extreme heat media toolkit for your use: http://www.cdc.gov/nceh/extremeheat/.

Suggested actions include – Review planned activities and assess the risk associated with continuing those activities – If exterior activities are to continue, advise participants to maintain hydration and protect themselves from the extreme heat – Provide cooling measures for exterior activities such as misting areas and additional shading – Review Emergency Operations Plans and ensure all agencies and responders are aware of their roles and responsibilities in the event of an emergency – Where possible, check the status of vulnerable populations and ensure their cooling systems are operational – Maintain a high level of awareness and react promptly to populations and mass gatherings that begin to suffer minor reactions to the heat to prevent more participants from being affected.

Libertore’s Italian Restaurant is located in the same shopping center as Martins Grocery Store. A very nice place for lunch or dinner. Fine dining at affordable prices.

Eldersburg is the first of four locations for this growing establishment. Opened in 1988 they evolved from a nice restaurant with a deli to a gourmet restaurant and catering business. Menu selection is full and diverse. Always busy, never crowded.

Excellent location, great parking and worth the trip. Libertore’s offers authentic Italian cuisine worth the trip out. The wait staff is polite and professional. The owner was not on site at the time of our visit. The pace is brisk. Service is fast and the tables turn quickly.

Libertore’s is widely known in the area and a safe bet for an excellent meal. Reservations are recommended but not required.

We entered promptly at noon on a Saturday. We were greeted by our server in a wait staff uniform with apron. He escorted us to our seat. Seating was comfortable yet simple. The dining area was decorated very well. Service was very good. Attentive but not bothersome.

The dining area was clean, dishes were nice. The chef did not place the meal in a presentation perhaps because it was lunch and not dinner.

Portions are reasonable. Lunch was preceded by sliced bread which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My wife had the Pasta Combo and it was nicely done. You could tell everything was very fresh. Flavors were robust and pure. Excellent. Our daughter had pizza and it was a real hand tossed pizza. I had the homemade cream of crab soup which was excellent followed by Shrimp Alfredo made from scratch. Excellent.

Business was excellent. Comfortable pace. Everyone is welcome. Very family friendly, great place to bring someone you want to impress. Room for wheelchairs, walkers and anyone needing a little extra space. Tables are nicely placed. Parking is abundant. Access from Liberty Road is good.

Prices are a high for Eldersburg but reasonable when you consider the quality of the food and the service. Good value for the money. Quality is high. On average lunch will cost about $15.00 per person plus drinks and tip.

Cleanliness is superior. Floors, appliances, utensils, counters and the seating area. All very clean. Accurately described as a fine restaurant, which also offers catering. Stop in for Lunch or Dinner.
