Troopers Search for Armed Robbery Suspect Print
Maryland State Police are continuing their search for a suspect who they believe was involved in as many as four armed robberies that occurred this weekend in southern Carroll County.
The suspect is described as a white male who is armed with a rifle.  He is said to wear a camouflage jacket and some type of hood, scarf, mask or other covering to cover part of his face.  He is described by witnesses as being between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall.
The series of armed robberies began Saturday night at about 10:30 p.m., when a man armed with a rifle entered the High’s store at Klee Mill Road and Liberty Road.  The next robbery occurred shortly before 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning at the Royal Farms store, located at Rt. 91 and Rt. 32 in Gamber.
About two and one-half hours later, a similar armed robbery occurred at the 7-11 store in the 7600-block of Woodbine Road, Woodbine.  The fourth robbery occurred at about 10:30 p.m. yesterday at Domino’s Pizza, in a Mt. Airy shopping center on Rt. 27 at Ridgeville Blvd.
State Police investigators report that witnesses indicate the man enters the store with the rifle and demands money.  He then orders everyone in the store to lie on the floor before he leaves.  There have been no injuries during these robberies and no shots have been fired.
At one of the robberies, a witness reported seeing a silver passenger car that may be related to the suspect in some way.  Investigators also believe the same suspect may have been involved in a similar robbery at a High’s store in Sykesville two weeks ago.
Investigators from the Maryland State Police Criminal Investigation Section at the Westminster Barracks have been working these cases throughout the weekend.  Anyone with information about any of these incidents is urged to contact Maryland State Police at the Westminster Barracks at 410-386-3000.  Callers may remain anonymous.  The investigation is continuing.
